Aalborg Airport
Aalborg Airport (AAL) lies at Nørresundby, northwest of Aalborg, and serves as an arrival point for northern Jutland. It is useful for a city break in Aalborg or a longer trip through Vendsyssel, the northern coastal resorts and Skagen. The airport also serves travellers from Himmerland and other parts of North Jutland.
Scheduled flights and holiday services connect the region with Copenhagen and destinations abroad. Some routes operate seasonally, so check the flight programme for your travel dates rather than assuming that a summer connection runs throughout the year.
The airport has a railway station close to the terminal and bus connections into the Aalborg area. Visitors continuing north can plan an onward connection through the regional rail network towards Hjørring, Frederikshavn or Skagen. Coastal accommodation may still require a local bus or road transfer. Include that final part of the journey when comparing flight options, especially for early departures or late arrivals.
