Långe Erik

Långe Erik

Overview

Långe Erik is Öland's north-cape lighthouse on Stora Grundet by Grankullaviken. It gives Öland travelers a clear coastal landmark and a different way to read the island’s long north-south geography.

Why Go

Go for its remote northern setting, small-bridge approach, white tower, and views toward the sea and northern Öland. The lighthouse works best as part of a route through its surrounding coast rather than as a single isolated stop.

Best Time To Visit

Late spring through early autumn is the easiest period for most travelers. Summer usually brings the best chance of visitor services, while spring and autumn can be better for atmosphere, birds, and quieter roads.

Practical Notes

Opening hours and tower access can change by season, weather, and operator. Check current information before planning a climb, and bring a wind layer because Öland’s lighthouse sites are exposed.
