Gällivare Lapland Airport is east of Gällivare and is a useful starting point for Dundret, the inland communities of Swedish Lapland and journeys toward the Laponia mountain area. Gällivare is a transport junction where rail and seasonal mountain-bound buses support onward travel.
The airport transfer and the journey into the mountains are separate legs. Reserve an airport taxi in advance, then check the bus or arranged transfer for your trailhead or lodge. Mountain services can be seasonal and infrequent, so leave sufficient time between the flight and an onward departure.
