Hemavan Tärnaby Airport is unusually close to Hemavan village and provides direct access to the local mountain holiday area. It is a useful arrival point for Hemavan's ski slopes and the southern end of the Kungsleden walking trail; Tärnaby requires a separate road transfer.
Some accommodation in Hemavan is within walking distance, but the uphill journey toward the trailhead is less convenient with luggage. Book a taxi if needed, and always arrange transport to Tärnaby in advance. The airport notes that taxis are not continuously available and that rental cars must be coordinated with the supplier.
