Hornafjörður Airport is north of Höfn in southeastern Iceland. It provides domestic access to Höfn and is useful for onward road trips along the coast near Vatnajökull, including glacier-lagoon and mountain scenery.
Arrange a rental car or pickup before arriving; the airport lists car rental locally. The journey to attractions farther west follows the coastal road and can take much longer than the short transfer into Höfn. Confirm flight dates and the final transfer together, especially for a fixed glacier activity or a remote overnight stay.
