Follow the signposted Harbour Circle on foot or by bicycle, using the official visitor map to choose an appropriate section.
Follow a documented waterfront route
The Harbour Circle is an established, signposted walking and cycling route described by Copenhagen Visitor Service. Use the official visitor map and the signs to choose the full route or a section that suits your group.
The interest is the changing waterfront rather than a sequence of compulsory stops. Allow time to look at buildings, working water space and public recreation, and keep the pace appropriate to the people joining you.
Walking or cycling
Choose one mode for your outing and respect signs where pedestrian and cycle use differs. If cycling, use a bicycle you can control confidently and keep stopping groups clear of moving traffic. Walking offers more freedom to pause and look closely.
No fixed duration is assigned: your choice of section, stops and mode determines the experience. This record describes a free self-guided outing, with bicycle hire or other optional purchases arranged separately.
Prepare before setting out
Take the current official map and check any local access notices. The route does not itself include a boat tour, museum admission or a supervised swim. If you add one of those experiences, use its own booking and safety information.
