At Maryhill Estate, choosing a room also means choosing the mood of the stay. Sugar Club offers the larger resort experience, with generous shared spaces and a Pool Club; Hill House gives the historic building a more intimate role, with just 16 guestrooms. The appeal is a break that can revolve around a good dinner, a swim and an unhurried morning, with enough social activity to make the hotel itself the destination.
The estate opened under its present identity on 18 November 2024, transforming the former Örenäs Slott hotel complex. It combines a renewed historic setting with contemporary resort architecture, rather than asking guests to choose between a country-house hotel and a modern leisure stay.
Sugar Club or Hill House?
Sugar Club contains 147 rooms and is the natural starting point for travellers drawn to the resort’s shared spaces, restaurant and pool experience. Hill House is smaller, with a restaurant concept that draws on the sociable dining culture of 1920s New York. The distinction matters more than the room count alone: it helps you decide which setting you want to return to after the day’s activities.
The new architecture has also received local recognition. Landskrona’s 2024 urban design award went to the extension, whose courtyard arrangement and brickwork reference Scanian farm buildings and the area’s brickmaking heritage.
A pool stay with a social soundtrack
Heated indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and fireside lounging give Maryhill a strong leisure focus. Music and bars are part of the experience, so expect a social Pool Club rather than assume a silent spa retreat. Day passes provide another way to visit without an overnight stay, subject to availability and the applicable age conditions.
Tennis, padel and indoor games add alternatives for guests who prefer some activity between meals. Check the arrangements for individual experiences when planning the stay.
Dining as part of the holiday
The restaurants provide two distinct directions: Mediterranean sharing at Sugar Club and classic, more theatrical dining at Hill House. Wine experiences can give a stay a particular focus, including seasonal programmes built around tastings and the vineyard.
Maryhill works especially well when the meal and leisure experience are chosen together. Book the room setting that appeals, understand the pool session included, and leave enough time to enjoy the estate as more than a place to sleep.

Two ways to make dinner the main event
Sugar Club takes its culinary direction from Greece and southern Italy, with a social format built around sharing dishes. The current presentation includes arancini, burrata and grilled dishes. Choose it for a meal that can spread across the table and become part of the resort evening.
Hill House takes a different approach, drawing on 1920s New York and classic restaurant service. Some dishes are finished at the table, giving dinner a sense of occasion. Menus change, so use the restaurant’s current menu when deciding between the two.
Wine experiences in autumn 2026
Maryhill’s advertised Wine Week experience combines a guided visit to Mary’s Vineyard, a tasting and a three-course dinner at Hill House. The vineyard visit introduces the project and its development; it should not be read as a promise that the wines tasted were produced from the estate’s own grapes.
The dedicated wine page advertises 25 October–1 November, while other official package text also mentions 24 October. Confirm the arrival date when booking. The tasting is included in the advertised package, while additional dinner wines are charged separately.
A Scanian tradition after the autumn break
Hill House also advertises a traditional Scanian goose dinner for evenings from 2–15 November in its autumn 2026 programme. This offers a different seasonal food experience from Wine Week. Consult the official dining page for the menu and reservations; neither programme should be assumed to run throughout the year.
Choose the package as carefully as the room
Maryhill Estate sells several overnight experiences with different meal arrangements, Pool Club sessions and check-in and check-out times. Read the conditions for the particular package before booking: a dinner stay and a wine experience do not necessarily include the same access.
Sugar Club and Hill House are distinct accommodation choices. Confirm the building and room category in the reservation, along with any accessibility requirements directly with the hotel. The general presentation of the estate does not establish that every room has the same facilities.
Visiting the Pool Club for the day
Day passes are offered subject to availability, with separate morning, daytime and evening sessions. A pass includes Pool Club entry and use of a towel, bathrobe and slippers. Lunch or dinner can be added when booking. Select the session you intend to use rather than assume a day pass provides unrestricted access throughout the day.
The official Pool Club page provides current sessions and booking links.
Autumn school holidays with children
The normal Pool Club minimum age is 16, and the operator specifies accompaniment by a parent or guardian. For the autumn school holidays in weeks 42 and 44, its published policy also allows younger children in the Pool Club from 08:00 to 11:00 with a parent or guardian.
This is a limited morning exception, not all-day family access. Families booking a package with an evening pool session should confirm which morning access is included before paying.
Reservations and seasonal experiences
Restaurant visits and special experiences should be arranged through the hotel's booking channels. For Wine Week in autumn 2026, the official material advertises a vineyard tour, tasting, dinner, an overnight stay and specified pool access. The website gives differing start dates, so confirm the intended arrival date in the booking system. Package inclusions also distinguish the tasting from additional wines ordered with dinner.
